The Future Is in Their Hands

June 8, 2021

The Class of 2021 will be remembered for the way they navigated the ups and downs of their junior and senior years during the pandemic. Thankfully, Graduation, like their prom, was held with few or no restrictions.

Now as President Lauren Draicchio said at Graduation, “Together, tonight, Class of 2021, we are closing this book. But tomorrow, we will write a new one. One with endless possibilities. A blank slate.”

Good luck to the Graduates of the Class of 2021 as they look forward to these future plans!

Claudia Jean Abouzeid is planning to attend Massasoit Community College to major in psychology and then continue on to Bridgewater State University to complete her bachelor in psychology.

Althaia Sharlize Alexander plans to go to the University of New Hampshire to major in her dream study of Life Sciences and Agriculture with Marine, Estuarine, and Freshwater Biology.

Jared Allen will be attending the Virginia Polytechnic Institute to major in nuclear engineering.

Thorn J. Annis will enter the workforce.

Stephen Araujo plans to enter the workforce.

Amanda Alves de Azevedo Amanda will move to Florida to study medicine.

Mackenzie Baker plans to attend Bridgewater State University to major in health science, one day hoping to become a physical therapist.

Fernando Cabrera Bamaca will attend Massasoit Community College in the fall.

Yggor Gabriel Batista hopes to realize his personal dreams.

Hayley Benson will be attending Coastal Carolina University where she plans on studying exercise science. She will also be a member of the Coastal Carolina Cheerleading team.

Nicholas Blonde will be going to EMT and paramedic school, to become a firefighter; he will work for his father’s construction company.

Jizia Jane Brandao plans to attend Massasoit Community College to major in nursing.

Michaela Ann Bruno plans to attend Westfield State University to major in Criminal Justice.

Evan Michael Burke  will attend the University of Rhode Island to major in Sports Media and Communication.

Devin Cavicchi plans to attend Bryant University to major in mathematics.

Nickollas Chaves Coelho plans to attend Massasoit Community College and then transfer to a four year university to major as a veterinarian.

Bryan Colarusso will be attending New England College and majoring in business and accounting.

Kyle C. Cordaro plans to attend Massasoit Community College and then transfer to a four year University to major in Finance.

Alexis R. DeFranc plans to attend Montserrat College of Art to major in illustration.

Julia Perez de Lima  plans to attend Bridgewater State University for two years and then transfer to a four year university to major in architecture.

Anny Gabrielly Dutra de Souza plans to attend Massasoit Community College to major in business administration careers-marketing.

James DiCarli plans to attend Westfield State University to major in movement science.

Anthony Marco DiNino plans to pursue a college education and career in animation.

Ryan  Dobay will enter the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he plans to major in business administration

Daniel Joseph Donahue is going to Bridgewater State University to major in business management.

Dillon Michael Doyle will continue his education and vocational training at Rockland High School.

Lauren Draicchio will be attending Curry College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing and continue her lacrosse career.

Jessica Driscoll plans to attend Flagler College to major in psychology.

Hissam Dubois plans to attend Stonehill College to major in Engineering.

Jonathan P. Dunphy will take a year off of school to work. 

Nicholas Earner Jr. has enlisted 4 years into the United States Airforce Special Operations as a Pararescueman.

Anna Ferrante plans to attend Bridgewater State University.

David J. Ferraro  is attending  Wentworth Institute of Technology and will  major in business management.

Pamella Oliveira Figueiredo is planning to go to Massasoit Community College to study business administration.

Hayden Ann Fiore plans to attend Massasoit Community College to major in nursing.

Katelyn Fitzgerald plans on attending Quincy College.

Emily Gaboriault plans to attend Bridgewater State University and then transfer to a four-year college to major in musical theater. She also hopes to one day make it all the way to Broadway.

Erin Gardner plans to attend Salem State University to major in nursing.

Gianna Gervasi will attend Plymouth State University to major in elementary education and in mathematics

Jaelyn Alyssa Glavin will be attending  Bridgewater State University to double major in elementary education and psychology.

Sarah Gormley plans to attend Merrimack College to major in business.

Macy Grass plans to attend Massasoit Community College to major in early childhood education and then transfer to a four year school.

Catherine Hailer is looking to go to a four year university to major in corporate law.

Tyler Harvey  will continue in the workforce and eventually become a firefighter or work in medical services.

Grace Henry plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Boston to major in nursing.

Kaylie N. Hess plans to attend Massasoit Community College and then transfer to a four year university to become a veterinarian or a doctor or a surgeon.

Haiden T. Hewlett plans on going into the workforce and is thankful for the teachers that got him here today.

Ryan David Hindy  plans to go to EMT school and then become a firefighter.

Meghan Hoblitzelle will attend Curry College to become a pediatric nurse.

Bridget Hughes will be  entering St. Anselm College to major in nursing; she also plans on playing tennis.

Robert Stephen Ivil III  will be going to New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology to major in mechanical engineering with a minor in explosive engineering.

Chloe Jones will attend the University of New England to major in nursing.

Russell  Jones  plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell to major in computer science.

Ann  Kelley has been accepted to attend Northeastern University to major in health science.

Rebecca Killion plans to attend Montserrat College of Art to major in painting.

Meghan Kirby plans to attend Bridgewater State University to major in secondary education.

Nicholas Leander  will be entering the Massachusetts Maritime Academy to major in International Business and to play football.

Joseph Levangie plans to attend Massasoit Community College and then transfer to Bridgewater State University.

Alexxys MacDonald plans to attend UMASS Boston to major in mathematics.

Thomas McSweeney plans to enter the workforce as a crane operator.

Zachery Miller plans to attend University of Massachusetts Darmouth to major in computer engineering.

Calin Rose Monett will attend Coastal Carolina University to major in exercise science.

Jacob Thomas Moore plans to attend Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and major in pre-physical therapy.

Patrick Moriarty plans to attend the University of Rhode Island to major in business.

Anthony L. Morreale will be attending Massachusetts Maritime Academy to major in marine transportation and become a ship captain.

Tyler Michael Morrison plans to try and travel the world doing photography and graphic design.

Alana Shea Murphy plans to attend High Point University in North Carolina to major in interior design.

Nicholas Michael Murphy will attend Massachusetts Maritime Academy to major in Marine Biology.

Kelly James Mwangi is planning to join a four year college, hopefully at Texas University, to study criminal justice and minor in Culinary Arts.

Joseph Nguyen plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell to major in electrical engineering.

Andrew James Norton plans to become a firefighter.

Arthur Edward Norton III  will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology to major in business.

Brendan O’Brien plans to go into the carpenter’s union.

Nijaya Kaylese Oehlschlagel plans to attend Quincy Community College and then transfer to a four year university to major in accounting. 

Mariana O’Connor plans to go to Plymouth State University to major in Allied Health Sciences and minor in Spanish.

Zachary Ofurum will be going to Stonehill College to major in biochemistry while furthering his track and field career.

Althea Ruth Olsen will be attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst to major in biology.

Jordan Ortiz plans to enlist in the United States Army while pursuing internet technology studies.

Debora Costa Paquiel plans to work as a paramedic.

Zackary Phripp plans to enter the workforce as a firefighter.

Jonah Pishkin will be going to Fitchburg State University where he will study filmmaking.

Nicholas Prado  will attend Massasoit Community College.

Tatum Rafferty  will attend Bridgewater State University to major in business while studying to get a real-estate license.

Daniel Alves Ramos will be attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell to major in electrical engineering.

Myavana Marae Reese wants to become a doctor. She is going to attend University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to major in Biology.

Giacomo C. Reis plans to attend New England College to major in business accounting.

Hannah Rich will be going to the University of Massachusetts Boston to major in nursing.

Natalina Richards plans to enlist in the United States Air Force.

William Robinson III plans to attend Bridgewater State University.

Matheus Rocha plans to enlist in the National Guard and eventually study law.

Vitor Martins Rodrigues will take a year off and will work, save money, and decide between working in international relations or as an ASL interpreter.

Cullen Rogers  plans to attend Harvard University and is undecided on a future major.

Natalia Roosa plans to attend Massasoit Community College and then transfer to a four year University to major in nursing.

Christian Rosario plans to attend community college and is undecided on his future plan.

Greta Russo plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst to major in environmental science.

Isabella  Seaton Bella plans to attend Southern New Hampshire University to major in criminal justice.

Isabella Smith plans to attend an EMS Training School to further her knowledge of emergency services and become a paramedic.

Nicholas Alan Soares  will attend Bridgewater State University to major in Biology.

Yani M. Soares plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Zachary Solomon plans to attend Brandeis University to major in Biochemistry.

Kaitlin Taft  will attend Beloit College in Wisconsin to major in Anthropology.

Scott M. Tavares  is going to attend culinary school. 

Victoria Taylor plans to attend Bridgewater State University.

Brady-Oreste Thacker plans to attend Quincy College for cybersecurity and enlist in the Air National Guard after high school graduation.

Allison Trainque plans to attend Salem State University to major in Biology.

James  Tsiantoulas  will attend Marist College to major in Sports Communications.

McKenzie Tsiantoulas will be attending Coastal Carolina University to major in Intelligence and National Security.

Stephen Tutkus Jr. enlisted in the United States Army and will report on June 22, 2021.

Hunter Fitzgerald Wardwell has chosen the University of Massachusetts Amherst at the Isenberg School of Management as a business management major.

Damon Welles  plans to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology to major in civil engineering.

Jakob Edward Wells plans to attend Massasoit Community College in the fall.

Alison Michelle Whitman plans to attend Bridgewater State University to major in Communication Media and Film.

Derek Tyson Williams  plans to go to Quincy College to play basketball and major in sports training and then transfer to a four year university.

Terell James Wright will be attending  Massasoit Community College to major in theater technology.

Miku Yoshioka will be attending Suffolk University to major in biology and then transfer her junior year to a four year university to major in biology.

Silvio Cordero Zapata Jr. plans to further his education at Massasoit Community College studying business and then continue his endeavors as an entrepreneur.

As seniors prepare to receive their diplomas tonight we present our last set of senior profiles. Thank you to all who answered the Veritas’ staff questions and Good Luck to all members of the Senior Class.

What are your post high school plans?

I am going to take a gap year and then go to Massasoit to major in early childhood education and then transfer with the same major.

What will you miss most about high school?

My friends

What advice would you give to an underclassman?

High school isn’t everything, you don’t need to stress so much.

What special moments, events etc. will you remember?

I will remember the football games and the basketball games before the pandemic.

What was your favorite class? Explain.

My favorite class was art. I liked it because I could do what ever I wanted for each assignment.

What was your favorite after school activity?

I only had softball after school but it was fun and I enjoyed my last year.

What have you learned about yourself this year?

I learned that I can do things I didn’t know I could.

I’m going to major in Sports Communications at Marist College

What will you miss most about high school?

What advice would you give to an underclassman?

Just be you, don’t change yourself to fit someone else’s beliefs.

What special moments, events etc. will you remember?

All the football games. Just playing in them were an awesome experience.

What was your favorite class? Explain.

Any history class I had. I was a huge history nerd.

What was your favorite after school activity?

Football

What have you learned about yourself this year?

I learned that it doesn’t matter what people think of you, you just have to live life to the fullest.

Any final thoughts?

Just enjoy your time in High School. It’s true when people say it goes by quickly.

What do you plan on doing after high school?
I plan to go to college at Bridgewater State University, however I’m undecided on what to study yet.

What was your favorite part of high school?
My favorite part was getting to meet so many great people and friends.

Did you play any sports?
Yes. I participated in cross country, wrestling, and track.

How would you say you did academically?
I think I was academically successful.

Are you overall going to miss high school?
I’ll miss certain aspects, even if there are some parts I’m eager to leave behind.

What was your favorite class?

My favorite class was either English with Mr. Bigsby, math with Mr. Casagrande, or Unified Gym because all of the people and teachers in those classes made that time spent in the classroom so memorable. 

What was your least favorite thing about high school?

My least favorite thing about high school was waking up early in the morning and having homework.

What was your favorite thing about high school?

My favorite thing about high school was the class and school activities like pep rally, football games, and homecoming. 

What do you plan on doing after high school?

After high school I plan to attend the University of New England where I will study nursing in homes of becoming a labor and delivery nurse one day. I also plan to play on their division III women’s soccer team. 

What will you miss most about high school?

The thing I will miss most about high school is seeing everyone I grew up with in school who I do not necessarily hang out with outside of school. 

Lauren Draicchio

Lauren Draicchio is the President of our Senior Class and has done a great job leading the class through these crazy times. After high school she will be attending Curry College to major in nursing.

Lauren answered a few questions for us.

What was your favorite class?

My favorite class was calculus with Mr. Casagrande.

What will you miss the most at RHS?

I will most miss fan sections at basketball games and the feeling of being a part of a family.

What have you learned about yourself throughout high school?

Through high school I have learned that it’s important to put everything you have into all you do, and to take pride in your accomplishments!
