Every year, The Veritas staff names two teachers with high spirits and joyful cheer Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Hard thought and voting went into this decision, and the staff decided that French teacher, Mr. Finn and Special Education teacher, Ms. White are a great fit. These holiday spirited teachers answered a few questions for us about Christmas.  READ MORE >>>>

 

THEATRE GUILD PRESENTS THE FEMALE ODD COUPLE

RHS students performed their own female version of The Odd Couple based on the 1970’s television show The Odd Couple. With new directors, Joanne White and Kendra Donovan, RHS students put on an amusing show on Dec. 11 and 12 in the RHS auditorium.   READ MORE>>>>

 

A DAY WITH THE PRINCIPAL OF ROCKLAND HIGH SCHOOL

principal: noun: 

     the person with the highest authority or most important position in an organization, institution, 

or group.

Some students assume during the year a principal does nothing but sit, relax and tell people what to do.

This isn’t the case for Dr. Cron (or any principal for that matter).

Recently, I sat down with Dr. Cron and asked him what his daily life as the Principal of Rockland High is like.

If you enjoy math and are good at it, you should join the RHS math team that participates in meets against other schools.

Students range from freshmen to seniors. These students do well and like math.

They also like pizza because after every meet that’s what they’re eating for an afternoon snack.

CHEERLEADERS WIN DIVISION IV STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The RHS cheerleaders are MSSAA Division 4 State Champions for the fourth time in the past eight seasons. The cheerleaders competed for the state title on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Algonquin Regional High School against nine other teams.

Their success at states followed their first place win at regionals on Nov. 15 at Whitman-Hanson High School and their triumph in the South Shore League Championship on Nov. 6 at Abington High School.  READ MORE >>>

 

 

Recent RHS Graduates Return for College Fair

On Tuesday, December 22, recent graduates from the classes of 2014 and 2015 returned to their alma mater to represent their respective colleges and universities at the annual Rockland High School College Fair.

The College Fair was held during all three lunches. RHS students from all grades were able to learn more about the colleges that the RHS alumni are now attending while simultaneously catching up with old friends. This is the third time the College Fair has been held. It was put on by Rockland High School’s Student Government Council and its Student Services Committee.

On Monday, December 21, RHS students prepared for a short week of school with Cozy Day. Students (and some teachers) were encouraged to dress in their comfiest of clothes for the second to last day of the Holiday Spirit Week.

Cluster the Elf Visits RHS Teachers

Cluster the Elf gets into a bit of trouble in Ms. Sullivan’s classroom.

Throughout the last few weeks RHS teachers have been visited by a new friend straight from the North Pole, Cluster the Elf.

So far Cluster has made appearances in the Math Department, Ms. Sullivan’s classroom, Ms. DiCanzio’s classroom, Mrs. Phelp’s classroom, Mr. Neal’s classroom, and Mr. Ricci’s office.
