It’s Tournament Time!
Three Rockland High School teams, girls’ volleyball, girls’ soccer and boys’ soccer, will be entering postseason MIAA tournament play starting on Friday, Nov. 4. Congratulations to all the players!
Also, three first year varsity coaches, Dan Kimball (soccer), Emily Murphy (volleyball), and Lauren Rizzotti (soccer) will be coaching in their first postseason tournament games. Congrats to these coaches!
On Friday at 5 pm the volleyball team will take on Sturgis East from Hyannis in a first round game. The girls with a record of 14-4 were seeded 5th in the Division III South Sectionals, therefore getting a home game in round one. With a win the girls would play on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Ursuline Academy. Good luck girls and Coach Murphy! For MIAA bracket link click here.
On Saturday at 2:30 pm the boys soccer team will take their 13-3-2 regular season record into the post season as the number 4 seed in the South. They will go up against Scituate whose record was 9-7-2. While it is Coach Rizzotti’s first venture into tournament play, she will be surrounded by veterans like Grace Oliver and Bridget Reardon who will look to make a run this year: one game at a time though!
