RHS SGC Awards 2015

On Wednesday, May 6, the Rockland High School Student Government Council held its annual Awards Night in the Lecture Hall. Awards were given to outstanding members from the 2014-2015 school year such as Council President, Katie DeLorey who won the Ashley Kelly SGC Best Overall Award.
Each member of the Council’s Executive Board (made up of council officers, class presidents, committee chairs, head representatives, SEMASC representative, and historian) spoke to the council and thanked them for another successful year.
DeLorey told the council that she had recently been thinking about the concept of legacies. She asked that if members took anything out of having her as president that she would like for it to be the understanding that failure is not the end. She went on to explain that failure builds character and to never let it deter you from continuing to press on with your goals.
Following her address to the council, DeLorey passed over the president’s reins to current junior Haley Macray who, along with the rest of the “Fab 4,” presented DeLorey and the advisors with gifts.
