Senior Brianna Starkey led the way for the girls softball team on Thursday, April 16 as they got their first win of the season against last year’s South Shore League champs, the Abington Green Wave.  Starkey hit the game winning home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lady Dogs up 2-0.    She had scored the Dogs’ first run in the third inning on a delayed steal of home plate.

Proud coach, Sharon McGonnigal said, “My team stayed focused and got the job done!!!”

For the day Starkey went 4-4, including two singles and a double to go along with her home run.

The Lady Dogs are 1-0 in league play and 1-3 overall.  They play today against Hingham at home.
