The Scholastic Art/ Boston Globe Show is an annual event for Massachusetts high school students, in which over 2,500 pieces of artwork are submitted. Each piece is evaluated by a panel of three judges who award Gold Keys, Silver Keys and Honorable Mentions to deserving entries.
This year, four RHS students won an award for their artwork.
Three students earned a Silver Key: Danielle Hill – for a charcoal self-portrait drawing, Dan Silva-for a self-portrait drawing, and Celia Rosa- for “Dirty Mouth,” a colored pencil drawing.
One student, Taylor Whitley, earned an honorable mention for her charcoal self-portrait drawing.
The artwork is submitted to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts on-line in December; contestants are notified if they won at the end of January. Gold key winners move on to a national competition.
Congratulations to the award winners from RHS!
