Pre-vacation rally adds spirit to RHS!
By Georgia PanagiotidisOn February 15th, the students and faculty of Rockland High had their annual winter pep-rally. The host seniors, members of the RHS Student Government Council, Alexis Hogan and Ashley Hemeon, did a wonderful job engaging the students and faculty in the events of the pep-rally. The New England Regional Champions, the RHS Cheerleaders, started things off with their routine and then received their brand new banner that will be proudly hung in the new gymnasium.
After the cheerleaders’ spectacular performance, seniors of winter sports teams and student government were recognized.
Next, four RHS students participated in the semi-finals of the 3 Point Shootout.
For the girls, seniors Sarah Royle and Bailey Olsen dueled for a spot in the finals. For the guys, sophomore Andrew Frazer and Sean Roche competed.
Olsen and Fraser made it to the final two and competed for the ultimate bragging rights; plus, the loser would also kiss the winner’s shoes.
Olsen beat Frazer by one basket and he had the privilege of kissing her shoes!
In finishing up the rally class wars and the game of quest were played with each class participating.
In all, the members of student government did a great job putting on a lively and spirited rally!
