Mr. O’Donnell bids RHS farewell

CAD teacher, Mr. O’Donnell is retiring on Nov. 1 after teaching for 33 years.

“Teachers teach because they care. Teaching young people is what they do best. It requires long hours, patience, and care.”
Famous Massachusetts educator Horace Mann’s words describe the teaching career of veteran woodshop and tech ed teacher, Mr. O’Donnell who is retiring today after 33 years as a teacher.

Though O’D as his students called him spent much of his time tucked away in the woodshop, the effect he and his course had on students was never hidden. Freshman Ryan Sugrue says, “ Even though I only had Mr. O’Donnell for two months, he is one of my favorite teachers at Rockland High School. He made his classroom a fun, working environment and always gave his students a good laugh.”

Check out the November issue of the Veritas for more info about Mr. O’Donnell as reported by Molly Garrity.
